Jack Massimino
Chief Executive Officer
Jack D. Massimino was appointed Chief Executive Officer in November 2004. Mr. Massimino served as both President and Chief Executive Officer from November 2004 until February 2006.
Prior to joining Corinthian, Mr. Massimino served as a director of the company since February 1999, and has served as chair of the audit committee and a member of the compensation committee of the board. Prior to Corinthian, Mr. Massimino served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Talbert Medical Management Corporation, a publicly traded physician practice management company from 1995 through late 1997. Prior to his association with Talbert, Mr. Massimino held various senior executive positions with FHP International Corporation, a multi-state, publicly traded HMO, with revenues in excess of $4 billion.
Mr. Massimino holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California Western University and earned a Master's Degree in Management from the American Graduate School for International Management. He has served on several boards, including Talbert Medical Management Corporation, FHP, Inc., Texas Health Plans, Great States Insurance Company, Art Institute of Southern California, Thunderbird World Business Advisory Council and the Orange County Business Committee for the Arts.
Peter C. Waller
President and Chief Operating Officer
Peter C. Waller has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Corinthian Colleges, Inc., since February 2006.
From October 2004 to January 2006, Mr. Waller served as Executive Partner of ThreeSixty Sourcing, a provider of imported consumer goods, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from March 2001 until October 2004. From June 1997 to February 2001, Mr. Waller served as the President of Taco Bell Corp., an international food service chain that became a subsidiary of Tricon Global Restaurants after it was spun off from Pepsico in 1997. Mr. Waller previously served as Chief Marketing Officer of Taco Bell Corp. from January 1996 to May 1997. From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Waller held senior marketing positions with KFC, an international food service chain, in Western Europe, Australia, and for the last two of those years, as Chief Marketing Officer of the USA operations. During the previous 15 years, Mr. Waller held various marketing and brand manager responsibilities with Procter & Gamble, an international consumer goods manufacturer, Braun GmbH, an international subsidiary of Gillette Inc., which manufactures small electrical appliances, and Nabisco, an international manufacturer of biscuits, snacks and grocery products, in England, Germany, Canada and the USA.
Mr. Waller received his M.A. from Oxford University, England.
David Poldoian
Chief Business Development Officer
David A. Poldoian joined Corinthian Colleges in November 2004, as President and Chief Operating Officer of its Online Learning Division. In February 2008, he was named Corinthian's Chief Business Development Officer.
Prior to Corinthian, Mr. Poldoian spent nine years with the Anheuser-Busch Companies, initially serving as President of its Eagle Snacks, Inc. division and later reporting directly to Anheuser-Busch's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer with responsibility for corporate strategy and initiatives. From 1986 to 1995, Mr. Poldoian was employed by Bain & Company, a strategic consulting firm, where he was a Vice President and Partner.
Mr. Poldoian completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Tufts University, and earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard School of Business. Mr. Poldoian has also served as an adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship in the MBA program at Washington University in St. Louis.
Steve Quattrociocchi
President, CCi Online
Steve Quattrociocchi joined Corinthian in March 2007, as President of CCi Online. Prior to Corinthian, Mr. Quattrociocchi spent his entire 19-year career with The Princeton Review, a publicly-traded provider of courses, tutoring, books and online test preparation for college, graduate and professional admissions tests, as well as related services for school districts across the U.S. He most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the $90 million Test Preparation Services division, where he helped grow division revenues by 148% over a five-year period and launched award-winning online test preparation courses. Previously, as Vice President, Course Operations, he oversaw The Princeton Review's network of company-owned regional offices. Mr. Quattrociocchi also served as Executive Director of The Princeton Review's Mid-Atlantic territory, where he more than doubled revenues in less than three years.
Mr. Quattrociocchi earned a master of business administration degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor of science degree from MIT.
Janis Y. Schoonmaker
President and Chief Operating Officer, Everest Florida Division
Janis Y. Schoonmaker was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Florida Metropolitan University in March 2006.
Mrs. Schoonmaker has more than 24 years of experience in the private postsecondary career education industry, and has been a member of Corinthian's management team since 1996. Prior to her current position she served as President of the Rhodes Colleges Inc. (RCI) Division; President of the University Division; Regional Vice President of Operations for RCI ;and Regional Vice President of Operations for Corinthian Schools, Inc. From 1986 - 1998 she served as President of four career colleges: Duff's Business Institute, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Parks College (Thornton campus and Aurora campus), Denver, Colorado; and Phillips Junior College, Fayetteville, North Carolina. She entered the career colleges industry in 1983 as a Director of Career Services of Kings College, Raleigh, North Carolina, and her role was expanded to Vice President of Career Services for the Rutledge Education System. Additionally, Mrs. Schoonmaker served as Director of Training and Development for Telecom Corporation.
Mrs. Schoonmaker earned a BSW in Social Work from Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, PA, and continued her studies in Adult and Community College Education at North Carolina State University and Management at Webster University.
Frank Stryjewski
President and Chief Operating Officer, Wyotech Division
Frank Stryjewski was appointed division president and chief operating officer of Wyotech in February 2007. Mr. Stryjewski oversees the company's eight WyoTech schools, which offer training programs in the areas of automotive, diesel, motorcycle, aircraft and marine technology and maintenance. Prior to joining Corinthian, Mr. Stryjewski's career spanned nearly 30 years in the cinema industry. Most recently, he served as senior vice president operations for Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corporation, where he was responsible for 130 theatres generating $850 million in annual revenue. Previously, as senior vice president of strategic development and marketing for American Multi-Cinema, Mr. Stryjewski oversaw company-wide marketing programs and developed new products, sponsorships and partnerships. He later became president of General Cinema Theatres, and while in that role he reversed several years of operating losses. Early in his career, Mr. Stryjewski served in a number of successively responsible management positions with American Multi-Cinema. Mr. Stryjewski earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Fordham University.
William B. Buchanan
Executive Vice President, Marketing
Mr. Buchanan has served as Corinthian's Executive Vice President, Marketing since joining the Company in July 2004.
Prior to joining Corinthian, Mr. Buchanan was employed by Greenpoint Mortgage where he directed all retail marketing with responsibility for direct marketing, internet marketing, advertising and branch marketing. Prior to Greenpoint, he was with Providian Financial Corporation, a credit card issuer with approximately 10 million customer accounts, where he served as Senior Vice President of Platinum Marketing, Senior Vice President of New Account Business and Executive Vice President of New Channel & Product Development.
Mr. Buchanan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California Berkeley.
Kenneth S. Ord
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Kenneth S. Ord has served as Corinthian's Executive Vice President since joining Corinthian Colleges, Inc. in February, 2005.
Mr. Ord has more than 30 years of financial experience with public and multi-national corporations. He most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Alliance Imaging, Inc. Previously Mr. Ord served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for FHP International Corporation, a publicly traded managed healthcare organization with operations in 11 states and Guam. After FHP was sold to PacifiCare Health Systems in 1997, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Talbert Medical Management, a physician practice management company. Earlier in his career, he spent 12 years with Kelly Services in successively responsible financial roles, including treasurer, controller and vice president of finance. He began his career at Ford Motor Company, serving nine years on the finance staff in roles ranging from overseas financing to profit analysis and financial controls.
Mr. Ord is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Brigham Young University, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics as well as an MBA.
Mark L. Pelesh
Executive Vice President, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. Pelesh has served as Corinthian's Executive Vice President for Legislative and Regulatory Affairs since September 2003.
Prior to joining Corinthian, Mr. Pelesh was a partner in the Washington DC law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP from 1997 to September 2003, where he founded and led the firm's Education Law Group. His work with Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP encompassed dealing with Congress, the U.S. Department of Education and many state authorities, as well as representation of accrediting agencies. He also served as a participant in the Department of Education's negotiated rulemaking procedures.
From 1981 to 1997 Mr. Pelesh was with the law firm of Cohn and Marks, where he served as partner from 1985 to 1997 and associate from 1981 to 1985. At Cohn and Marks, Mr. Pelesh helped establish the firm's education practice and served on its management committee. He began his career at the law firm of Arnold & Porter, where as an associate from 1978 to 1981 his work focused on corporate, antitrust, real estate and litigation matters.
Mr. Pelesh holds a J.D. degree from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal, and a Bachelor's degree with Honors in History from Stanford University, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. His articles on the legal issues surrounding education have been published in law reviews at Duke and Notre Dame and for the National Association of College and University Attorneys, among other publications.
Beth A. Wilson
Executive Vice President, Operations
In her current role as EVP of Operations, a job she has held since July 2001, Beth Wilson oversees all operational support for accreditation and licensure, curriculum development and quality control, career services, student financial services, human resources, real estate, facilities and purchasing.
Ms. Wilson has been with CCi since its inception in 1995. Prior to her role as EVP of Operations, she held such leadership positions within the company as Operations VP and Regional Operations Director.
Prior to joining CCi, Ms. Wilson was employed by National Education Centers (NEC) as Executive Director of its Capital Hill campus and later as its Area Operations Manager. She also served as National College's Vice President of Branch Operations, as well as United Education and Software's Business School Executive Director, Group Manager and Vice President of Administration.
Ms. Wilson earned a Master of Business Administration from National University in San Diego, California, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State College in Sonoma, California. She has served on the Board of Directors for Career Colleges Association and as a commissioner for the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
Carmella Cassetta
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Carmella Cassetta joined Corinthian Colleges in August 2005 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive information technology strategy for the company.
Ms. Cassetta brings to Corinthian Colleges over 20 years of experience in the information technology field, including global distribution and retail responsibilities across multiple industries.
She joined Corinthian Colleges from Ingram Micro, a Fortune 100 distributor of information technology products and services, where she served as Corporate Vice President, Global Application Development. In this role, Ms. Cassetta was responsible for the worldwide development and implementation of all Ingram Micro systems, managing a global organization with associates located in the United States, Canada and Europe. Prior to Ingram Micro, Ms. Cassetta served as Chief Information and Technology Officer for Printnation and held a series of successively responsible information technology positions with Barnes & Noble, Inc. and Waldenbooks .
Ms. Cassetta received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, and holds her certificate in Networking Technology from New York University School of Continuing Education.
Paul T. Dimeo
Senior Vice President, Real Estate
Mr. Dimeo has served as Corinthian's Senior Vice President, Real Estate, since September 1, 2003.
Prior to joining Corinthian, Mr. Dimeo served from 1998 through August 2003 as Senior Vice President of The Staubach Company, a national commercial brokerage firm specializing in tenant representation. Earlier, Mr. Dimeo held a variety of senior real estate positions during a 20-year tenure with IBM Corporation, both in New York and California.
Mr. Dimeo holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York (SUNY), New Paltz, New York, and received a Master of Corporate Real Estate Certificate from CORNET, an industry trade organization.
Anna Marie Dunlap
Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications
Anna Marie Dunlap has been employed with Corinthian since January 2005 as senior vice president investor relations and corporate communications. Ms. Dunlap has over 25 years of communications experience with companies ranging in size from newly public start-ups to the Fortune 500.
Prior to joining Corinthian, Ms. Dunlap was vice president investor relations (IR) with Premera Blue Cross, one of the largest health plans in the Pacific Northwest, where she was responsible for preparing the company for an initial public offering. Prior to Premera, she was head of investor and corporate communications for The TriZetto Group, a healthcare information technology firm, where she built the company's communications function from the ground up. Prior to TriZetto, Ms. Dunlap was an investor relations consultant to the healthcare industry, with clients in information technology, managed care, medical technology, home health, physician practice management and dental practice management. Prior to consulting, she was vice president investor relations for American Medical Response, where she developed and implemented that company's first IR and media relations program. From 1985 to 1995, Dunlap was with FHP HealthCare, a $4 billion managed healthcare company, where she held progressively responsible positions in regional operations, strategic planning, investor relations and corporate communications. As vice president, investor relations she was the first IR officer for a managed healthcare company in the United States.
Ms. Dunlap graduated magna cum laude with a master's degree in human resources economics from the University of Utah in 1980.
Stan A. Mortensen
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Stan A. Mortensen, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Stan A. Mortensen was promoted to his current position in October 2002 from the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, which he held since January 2000.
Previous professional achievements include:
- Prior to Corinthian, Mr. Mortensen was an attorney at the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers LLP from March 1997 through December 1999 where his practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.
- From August 1994 through February 1997, he was an attorney at the law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi where his practice focused on complex commercial litigation.
- Mr. Mortensen received a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University
Robert C. Owen
Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer
Robert C. Owen has served as Corinthian's Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer since February, 2005. Mr. Owen joined Corinthian in 2004 as vice president and controller. He has more than 20 years of experience in industry and public accounting.
Prior to joining Corinthian, he served as vice president and controller for Princess Cruise Lines and as assistant controller for Royal Caribbean Cruises. Mr. Owen began his career at Deloitte & Touche where he spent 11 years in successively responsible audit positions, both in the U.S. and Canada.
Mr. Owen earned a B.B.A. degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. He obtained his license as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida in 1985 and as a Chartered Accountant in Ontario, Canada in 1994.
Jim Wade
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Mr. Wade joined Corinthian Colleges Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in November 2005.
Prior to joining Corinthian, he was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for The TriZetto Group, a leading healthcare software solutions company. Mr. Wade has over 33 years of experience as a Human Resources executive, and has held senior-most H.R. positions with Honeywell, Hadson Corporation, and FHP Healthcare. In addition, he served as a senior partner with the retained executive search firm of McCormack and Farrow.
Mr. Wade holds an M.S. degree in Human Resource Management from Chapman University in Orange, California and a B.S. degree in Business Administration from The University of Redlands in Redlands, California.
