Growth is just one of a few high-priority goals for Everest College's Gardena faculty and students which hope to add both more classrooms and programs. This warm and inviting Southern California campus has excellent employees with passion and love for the students. The campus recently completed renovations, which nearly doubled its size and now sports a fully stocked resource center with an on-site librarian and updated computers.
Education
The Gardena campus' faculty and student volunteers run the tutoring program, which aims to help students perform better in classes, and become better rounded in hopes of getting placed with jobs.
In addition to tutoring, the campus offers free monthly enrichment and life skills classes for our students. Some courses include teaching sign language for medical terminology, financial literacy for budgeting, interviewing techniques beyond the classroom, a test anxiety prep class and more.
Community Outreach
The faculty and students put a premium on giving back to the community. Partnering with a free health care program located in Los Angeles County, the medical and dental assistant students offer free services to assist with underprivileged individuals.
Events and Activities
The faculty and students also know how to have fun. The campus celebrates a number of events throughout the year including:
- Memorial Weekend – Celebrate men and women in the service through personalized cards
- Earth Day – Reduce, reuse, recycle and plant flowers
- Christmas – Toy drive
- Thanksgiving – Food drive
- Halloween – Dress-up and costume contest
