The WyoTech, Daytona campus was established in January 1972, imagined as a school that would be "private" in its structure and "public" in its impact. Using this basic concept, classes began in a one building classroom-shop. WyoTech, Daytona campus (originally named American Motorcycle Institute, Inc.) grew from this small physical structure to what it is today. The Motorcycle Division of WyoTech currently offers advanced specialized training on BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha motorcycles.
Seeing the need for another service-related course, marine mechanics was added in 1973. At first, only inboard gasoline powered marine engines with a stern drive unit were used for training. Soon the demand for outboard motor mechanics training became strong and was added to the curriculum in 1975. The latest addition to our Marine Division is training on marine diesel engines and generator sets.
Still keeping the basic concept, WyoTech Daytona gained recognition in the service related industries. Students acquired the knowledge in the classrooms, labs, and shop which are kept at a relatively small student-teacher ratio.WyoTech Daytona Housing
WyoTech Daytona Beach’s Student Services Department is available to help you locate safe, affordable and well-maintained housing. While we do not have housing facilities on-site, we do provide referrals and assistance for students in need of housing. Students have been most successful living in the Palm Coast and Ormond Beach communities, located just a few miles from campus. We also offer transportation to and from selected housing sites to campus.
