WyoTech's history began in June 1966 when 22 students from Wyoming and surrounding states started their careers in Automotive Technology in Laramie, Wyoming. Since then, WyoTech has graduated more than 28,000 students from across the nation and several foreign countries. It was in January 2004 when WyoTech opened a campus in West Sacramento, California.
Sacramento's Automotive Technology Department has more than 83,000 square feet of shop and classroom space, including classrooms for audio-visual demonstrations and lectures and more than 62,000 square feet of shop space for hands-on experience. The shop contains stalls, workbenches, lifts, a transmission dynamometer test center, portable chassis dynamometers, driveability diagnostic equipment and wheel alignment equipment.
Throughout its history, WyoTech Sacramento campus has kept its instructors abreast of the latest techniques, added new equipment as needed, and updated curriculum as changes occurred in the industry. "Turn Pro" is not simply a slogan at WyoTech, it is a commitment.
