WyoTech's history began in June 1966 when 22 students from Wyoming and surrounding states started their careers in Automotive Technology in Laramie, Wyoming. Since then, WyoTech has graduated over 26,000 students from across the nation and several foreign countries.

In January 2004, WyoTech opened a campus in West Sacramento, California, which now offers programs in Automotive Technology, Applied Service Management, and Chassis Fabrication & High Performance Engine courses. In July 2008, the Sacramento campus began offering evening classes for their Automotive Technician and Collision Refinishing Technician programs. These evening programs may be completed in 12-months.

The Automotive Technology Department has over 32,500 square feet of shop and classroom space, including classrooms for audio-visual demonstrations and lectures and over 27,000 square feet of shop space for hands on experience. The shop contains stalls, workbenches, lifts, a transmission dynamometer test center, portable chassis dynamometers, driveability diagnostic equipment and wheel alignment equipment.

Throughout its history, WyoTech Sacramento has kept its instructors abreast of the latest techniques, added new equipment as needed, and updated curriculum as changes occurred in the industry. "Moving into the Future" is not simply a slogan at WyoTech, it is a commitment.

WyoTech is now offering flexible part-time evening classes for the Automotive Technology and Collision Refinishing Programs.
