As the number of surgical procedures increases for an aging population each year, career opportunities for the Surgical Technologist will continue to be plentiful. The student will acquire the skills necessary to assist with surgical operations under the supervision of doctors, nurses, and other surgical personnel.

The Surgical Technologist is also responsible for duties performed before and after surgical procedures. You will help to prepare the operating room for patients, organize and maintain instruments and equipment, and assist in replenishing supplies.

Surgical Technologist Class training includes the following instruction: Proper aseptic techniques for preventing and controlling infection, recognition of basic instrument sets, the ability to position patients with confidence and relative ease, the ability to function confidently and effectively as a member of the surgical team, and much more.
