You will find diesel equipment and technology running things from oil rigs, power plants, hydraulic systems, and locomotives to cargo ships, farming equipment, construction vehicles, mining equipment, and diesel trucks.
WyoTech will give you the hands-on experience you need to be a success in the diesel technology field. You will be able to on machines produced by some of the top names in the diesel industry, including: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and John Deere.
Your Diesel Technology Program coursework will include Engine Management Systems and Accessories, Fluid, Power and Electrical Systems, Engines, and Power Trains. Diesel engine theory and design, engine performance, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and hydrostatic transmission are just a few more of the many systems you will train on.
You can also choose to specialize in the following core programs: Advanced Diesel, Applied Service Management, Automotive-Diesel Combination, High Performance Powertrain, Light-duty diesel, Motorsports Chassis Fabrication , and Trim and Upholstery to name a few.
Graduates of the diesel technology program can look forward to finding job openings in the following areas: Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Locomotive Maintenance, Over-the-road Truck Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, Dealership Service, and Aftermarket parts development/specialist.
